Please note: Cemeteries are administered by the Parks and Open Spaces Department and they should be contacted to make any arrangements as per the contact details below.

Contact an Undertaker

Your first contact for funeral enquiries is the undertaker who can make all the arrangements for you, including:

  • liaising with the council regarding the date and time of burial
  • opening a grave or buying a new grave

Arranging a Burial

Burials can be arranged with the staff at our council offices for cemeteries which are maintained by us.

The Cemetery Administrator’s Office is closed on Bank and Public Holidays.

This does not affect Bank Holiday Interment arrival times, 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Burial Rules and Regulations

The Cemetery Management Rules and Regulations is also available as a published booklet is available by contacting the Cemetery Administration Office on T: 028 9335 8232.

Grave Subsidence

Grave subsidence refers to the appearance of graves ‘sinking’.

This is an entirely natural process caused by loosened soil settling into place.

Grave subsidence is a process that Council manages and rectifies, and it should not be cause for concern.
