Mayor’s condolences following death of David Hilditch

The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Gerardine Mulvenna, has expressed her sadness following the death of David Hilditch.
Mr Hilditch, who stepped down as an East Antrim MLA in recent months, dedicated more than 30 years of his life to serving the local community, including as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of his hometown Carrickfergus.
He was also a devoted and passionate supporter of his beloved Carrick Rangers Football Club.
The Mayor said: “My thoughts and prayers are with David’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“David was an extremely hardworking and committed public representative and I know his loss will be keenly felt within the local community. I was saddened to hear of his passing and I extend my heartfelt sympathies.”
