Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Fund launched in Mid and East Antrim
Thursday 27 March 2025
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is supporting the NI Executive to roll out the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) Strategy, including funding opportunities for organisations in the borough through the new EVAWG Change Fund.

The Change Fund, forms part of a seven-year strategic framework led by the Northern Ireland Executive Office to address the range of gender-based violence, abuse and harm which is disproportionately experienced by women and girls, and which is rooted in gender inequality and was launched in September 2024.
The new fund is set to support organisations working to prevent and challenge the attitudes, behaviours and culture that can lead to violence against women and girls that can often happen in plain sight.
Through the EVAWG Change Fund, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is offering tiered funding of up to £25,000 to help mobilise grassroots action, support innovative delivery and maximise the impact of community-led initiatives.
The fund is open to a wide range of organisations across community, sports, arts and faith-based sectors to help them raise awareness and help end violence against women and girls across the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area.
Application guidance notes, details of the eligibility criteria, and the online application can be accessed by visiting our EVAWG page on this website.
Completed applications must be submitted online no later than 5pm on Friday 9 May 2025.
The Change fund forms part of a wider £3.2 million investment over a seven-year period. This first step will see £2 million shared across all 11 councils to enable them to support EVAWG action in their local areas.
Grants of up to £5,000 (Tier 1), £15,000 (Tier 2) or £25,000 (Tier 3) are available to deliver projects that will help to change the attitudes, behaviours and culture of violence against women and girls in Mid and East Antrim.
The Fund focuses on three key outcomes:
- Change the attitudes, behaviours and culture of violence against women and girls
- Promote healthy, respectful relationships
- Help women and girls feel and be safe everywhere
This initiative is the first of several upcoming initiatives by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council as part of the EVAWG Strategic Framework.
