The man who brought a little bit of Larne to Ontario

A talk which looks at the life of Alexander McNeill MP, whose childhood home was the Corran at Larne Harbour, and who created a new Corran in the Wiarton Peninsula in Ontario.
McNeill settled in Ontario and was elected as an MP in the Canadian parliament, where he was a strong advocate for the Empire.
He returned to Larne to deliver a speech in support of unionists during the Home Rule period.
This talk will examine McNeill’s story, his political career, his return to Larne and what eventually became of the Corran on the Bruce Peninsula.
