Centenary Fireworks

As part of Council’s year-long programme to mark the Northern Ireland Centenary, Council will be holding a celebratory fireworks event at People’s Park on Friday 10 December from 7pm - 8.30pm, with a specially commissioned outdoor theatre piece "Remember When?" featuring monologues and dialogues from characters recalling significant social events of the last 100 years by the talented C21 Theatre.

There will also be live music from the past 100 years in Northern Ireland to get your toes tapping, the festivities will finish with a spectacular fireworks display.

In line with Executive Office legislation on large outdoor events attendees must show proof of full vaccination status (Covid passport), or a negative Lateral Flow Test in the previous 48 hours, or proof of recovery from a positive PCR test in the previous 30 to 180 days.

Covid19 controls:

  • Testing is strongly recommended at least 24 hours before the event and on days 2 and 8 after the event.

  • Do not attend if you have any Covid-19 symptoms

  • Use the hand sanitisers on site

  • Keep social distancing
