Other Council Policies
Events Policy
The Events Policy determines the council annual programme of events and outlines the approach taken if Council receives approaches from external event organisers for hosting and funding events.
Policy on Celebration Floral Displays for Significant Events
This Policy was developed to set out Council's position with regard to requests from the community for planting displays within our facilities and to clearly identify the responsibilities of Council and those applicants making a request.
Data Protection Policy
The purpose of the Data Protection Policy is to ensure Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (as amended) and associated legislation/good practice to protect individuals with regard to the processing of their personal data by Council.
Policy and Procedures for Public Rights of Way Investigations
The intention of this policy is to show that Council approaches its statutory responsibilities under the Access to the Countryside (NI) Order 1983 in a fair, balanced and professional manner. The legislation only applies where a public right of way exists. It therefore can only reasonably be applied if and when Council is satisfied that one exists.
Street trading Policy
This policy details how Council will regulate street trading activities within the Borough and how application of these provisions will be proportionate and fair.
Pavement Café License Policy
A Pavement Café License authorises a person who carries on a business involving the supply of food or drink (in or from premises) to place temporary furniture (tables, chairs and other furniture that can be removed from the area within 20 minutes.) on a public area for use by customers. This includes cafés, restaurants, pubs, retail outlets providing refreshments, takeaways, etc.
The Council has a duty to regulate pavement licencing in the Borough under the Licencing of Pavement Cafés Act (NI) 2014, which came into operation on 1 October 2016.
