Looking Back to Look Forward
Project seeking volunteers from the Mid and East Antrim area.
Looking Back to Look Forward: Mid and East Antrim 1921 - 2021 is a Northern Ireland Centenary project by Council.
This opportunity will enable volunteers to research themes inspired by Council’s local museum collections to uncover untold stories.
The project themes are:
- Creation of Northern Ireland;
- the Second World War;
- Education,
- Health and Welfare;
- Working Life,
- Popular Culture (including sport);
- A Sense of Place; and
- Looking to the Future.
The project is firmly based on the Community Relation Council/National Lottery Heritage Fund Principles for Remembering.
We are seeking to explore in a balanced and inclusive way with local communities, the lived experience in Mid and East Antrim from 1921 to the present day to better understand how identities have been forged and communal
memories created.
