Current Plans and Policies
These following Development Plans will continue to inform planning decisions until the new LDP is adopted:
- Ballymena Area Plan 1986-2001 (not currently available online)
- Larne Area Plan 1984-2010
- Carrickfergus Area Plan 2001 (not currently available online)
Following a Judicial Review quashing the adopted Belfast Metropolitan Area Plan 2015, the Carrickfergus Area Plan 2001 has reverted to being the statutory area plan for the Carrickfergus area, with draft BMAP (2004) held to be a material consideration in the determination of planning applications.

- Monitoring and review of LDP’s
- Preparation, monitor and review of supplementary planning policy and guidance
- Designation, variation and/or cancellation of Conservation Areas
